We have been together 4.5 years. Have our own home together. 2 giant furr bubbas, and our first baby girl under 1 year. I’m on mat leave currently, so trying to achieve a budget friendly wedding, whilst still achieving something beautiful. I do love the idea of indoor/outdoor, somewhere we can haves the ceremony and the reception in the same place. We are both very casual, homely, relaxed kind of people. So the idea of food trucks, either BYO or a bar tab (as majority of ppl we know don’t drink beer & wine), a cute outdoor dance space with gorgeous night lighting really appeals to us. Alternatively, we also love the urban/industrial style also. Arch windows, candles, red brick or white rendered walls, but still with the very casual feel of either cocktail slider foods & a dessert table, or food trucks.

We have a decent sized family, and lots we are not super close with, or have partners we have never met. But it will be WW3 if we excluded ppl. That’s a big driving factor for why I would much prefer to not pay per head (unless it’s quite affordable), but rather pay for the food eaten at a food truck or via canapés style. Not only do we have a big variety of ppl who barely eat, as well as people who could eat 2-3 meals and still want more (I don’t want to watch some people remain hungry, while others waste a full sit down meal), but also don’t want to pay a fortune for people we don’t overly care for.

We have a mortgage and a young family to put the funds towards. I’d love to keep it to a total of 10-20k total. So need to save as much on the decore/venue/food/drinks as possible.
